A systematic effort is starting within the working group to improve
the representation of orographically-affected cloud systems within
large scale and climate models. This initiative will proceed
through several initiatives including: the preparation of a review
article, a satellite-based survey of the extent of cloudiness
in relation to orography, and the preparation of datasets for
assessing model capabilities for these cloud systems.
