SSM/I FOR BALTEX FIELD CAMPAIGN

BALTEX is designed as a cage experiment to assess the total heat and water flux divergence of the BALTEX area. One of the BALTEX field experiments, BASIS, had an intensive field phase in the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea in a boundary zone between the open sea and the ice-covered sea from 16 February to 7 March, 1998

The data presented here are from 16 Feb 1998 to 7 March 1998 and cover a region from 45N to 75N latitude and from 0 to 45E longitude.

Selected variables from the SSM/I are available here for display as GIF images, or for downloading to your local disk. If you are downloading data, please see the browse data format description. Also take note of the version and reference information. The full documentation for the SSM/I data can be found at the SSM/I webpage.

If you are downloading multiple files, please use the GCSS-DIME ftp site (ftp gcss-dime.giss.nasa.gov/pub/BALTEX/SSMI).
